Farmers we love

Below we have a Farmer Survey and a Farmers Market Survey.
We would appreciate your participation.

Farmers we love are small, organic farmers who reject cruel confinement systems for animals.

Do you love a small farmer that does not use cruel confinement systems for animals?  Fill out a Farmer Nomination Form at the bottom of the page.  Each farmer will be considered for a spot on our Farmers We Love .

Carlea Farms www.carleafarms.com

Carlea Farms is an all-natural, family owned and operated farm located in Millingport, NC. Not only do they reject cruel confinement systems of turkeys, pigs and laying hens, but they grow some of the tastiest veggies around.  Check out this video about divesture raised Turkeys from Carlea Farms to see what it's like to be a pasture raised turkey.  Commercially raised turkeys are selectively bred for rapid growth in a shorter period of time.

This rapid growth commonly leads to muscle and cardiovascular damage and painful leg problems. Living in overcrowded warehouses, they are prevented from engaging in natural behaviors, which may cause them to injure each other. At slaughter, they are subjected to extremely stressful and painful methods.
